Default Thank you Dealership...

so i took my truck to the dealership again and had them take a look on how bad my wheel bearings were. (Since another garage told me they were bad and i just had a back injury so i couldnt check it myself. said they had a inch of play in them)

well the technitian comes out the service area to say my wheel bearing are nice and tight, they have been changed recently (PO must have done it)

So the reason why my left tire is jumping when i turn left is because of a measly little frozen u-joint. (they showed me there was no play in wheel bearings, other garage didnt)

So whats happeneing when i turn left is the pass side ujoint is "locking" up causing thetire to hardly spin, and the tire that jumps is trying to still push on, causing it to jump.

Im going to replace both ujoints, but since i have to take them out of my hub assembly, would it be a good idea to just change the hub assembly/wheel bearings since i have to take the axle shafts out anyways? theres nothing wrong with them.

and whats the difficulty on changing these ujoints?

and the dealership didnt charge me lol

That was very nice of your dealer. Glad to see that someone will still treat you fairly in these bad times. I would definatly be going back to them to buy parts. Could you give us the name of the dealer FFR.

U-Joints are pretty easy. You will need a good vise and hammer, though. The first time I changed them, I had to use my uncle's torch to get the joint out because the caps were frozen. Replace them with new Spicer joints.

Spicer? dealer said 45 a piece, AZ has them for 16.99 each

i have been buying my parts there, ive spent maybe 500 bucks there in the past 3 months lol. and they know me by name...usually you have to pay before they order...not with me, they order the part, and i pay for it whenever i come in to get it...so i have a good relationship with them

and the name of the dealership is Hiller Dodge
