Ok, guess this thread kinda got off track, but I wanna trow my
in, if you're gonna replace any u-joints on your truck, make sure you get ones w/ zerk fittings. That way when you're done 4x4ing, just pump them full and push out any $hit that may have gotten in. They will last 10x longer.
Yeah back on track, and for future reference.....
A quick way of checking the u-joint is to jack the truck up and have someone turn the steering wheel from lock to lock while you're turning the tire by hand. if a cup is seized the wheel wil bind.
You can also grab the 2 yokes and check for play
