Default Tranny rebuild??

Im working on getting a turbo for my car. I know the trans will have to be upgraded. My question is do you think it's cheeper to buy a already built trans or to just have mine rebuilt?? Im guessing it would be cheeper to just have mine rebuilt but thought I would get a little input from you guys first. also I have not talked to any tranny shops yet but so I get a idea of what im looking for what do you recomend to have done to the trans to hopfully make it bullet proof?? I would love to put a 6 speed in it. But I have not seen anyone on here do it yet or answer if it's even possible?? Thanks for the info.

I had a level 10 tranny rebuild ... It's been holding up to 100+ shots of nitrous since 99

Is there a lvl 10 kit or somthing that I can buy? Or do I have to get it only threw a tranny shop?

And what hp shot are you using?

Level 10 IS a tranny shop ... NY or NJ they specialize in our trannies ...
It's a 100hp shot of nos I've went up to 150 for short bursts but the egts go too high too fast

To help the tranny transfer that power better, I suggest a higher stall torque converter, an LSD, and a shift kit. Not to forget about the motor mounts too. FWD has an issue with wheel hop and the LSD and stiffer motor mounts help with that.

I haven't had my rebuilt yet but when I called around they usually asked if I was rebuilding it tobe stronger or just fixing a problem.

Hey yo sliver will those polyurethane motor mounts be strong enough?

By itself? Sure. If you're somewhat easy on a launch.
An LSD will help a lot though. Keep in mind, they aren't cheap.

Are making the urathane mounts just as good as buying replacement ones? That almost seems to easy...

I contacted lvl 10. Did you go to the one in hamburg NJ? I go down to that area every couple of weeks. So that would actually work out great. I can drop the trans off one trip and pick it up the next..
