Hello everyone.
I posted here a long time ago asking what i could do to make my car preform better and faster
At first i knew nothing about cars ... but over the last few months i've learned alot
So i have decided to save up some cash and work on my car
now i have 1200$
and a dodge avenger es in my garage
aside from a messed up fuel pump... which i will be replacing today ...nothing is wrong with the car
the main things i want to look at are cold air intake's and headers for the first upgrades

but here is the problem ...i can not find any headers for this car!! where can i find them?

and can any 1 tell me the correct area of increase in power from a good cold air intake and headers?
i've been told anywear from 24 hp for both ..all the way up to 100hp

 

I4 or V6 ???

there was only one company that made headers ... XIR there was a group buy years ago ... they have been seen on ebay but due to the limited# they bring three times what they were new ... There was a set on one of the other avenger sites for $500

Iceman /AEM both make good cold air intakes ... I prefer the AEM with the bypass valve if you are in a rainy area

 

i really cant see spending 500$ on a pair of headers?? or is it worth it?

beside the cold air intake and headers is there anymore beside a bolt on supercharger that i could do to increase the HP?

 

headers=25hp ... lots more torque...
underdrive pulley=10hp
icon ignition=8/10hp
there is no direct bolt in supercharger .... only one turbo set up but the shop isn't shipping and not communicating so I'd not recomend them ....
nitrous can be used up to 100horse shot

There is a set of headers on another avenger site , for $500 includes downpipes ...
Underdrive pulley = bolt on and change belts ...pretty easy hp gain
ICON is made by superchips , it's an ignition modifier definately helps by djusting timing ect be sure to get the programming cable ect to allow extra tuning ..
NO direct bolt supercharger the Ripp Mods one has been used with the 3.0 motor swap ...
Exile Racing was the turbo supplier ...

So i have decided the first two thing i will do
is
1. put a cold air intake on the car.
2.exsaust...but i know close to nothing pipes or mufflers .. just that i do not want my car to sound like a civic with that cracking noise .. its so horrible


my question for you fellow avenger owners and fans is... what would you suggest for best increase in performance with these items?
