ok i have a 98 avenger with a sunroof so the doom light is on the back of the center console, its never worked since i bought it a few months ago.
Bulb is fine, now the fuses im having a little problem the top of interior fuse box is gone so i dont know what fuse goes to what. anyone have a diagram or know where i can get one? or is the dome light fuse in another place?

its under the hood, looking at the fuse block, its the one called room lights, if ur missin the under hood cover, lookin from the head light/bumper, its on the top right, theres 2 10 amp fuses, the top is the radio, the 2 one the the room light

 

likely the door switches are bad .... very common problem with the cars .... under $10 depending where you get them

 

door switches around $6 a piece at autozone/advanceauto

 

$10 is dealer cheaper at other spots

i have the same problem. my dome light works when i open drivers side door, but not when passenger is opened. also when i adjust the dash dimmer they won't come on. any other remedy for the dimmer **** not turning them on? thanks sorry to hijack.

 

You have a bad passenger side door switch ...
Does your car have a sunroof ??? Sunroof cars do not have dome lights turn on from the switch, only the two "switches" for the map lights on the rear view mirror

 

yeah i have the sun roof. if i go to autozone or whereever i just ask for a door switch or does it have a special name?

 

Door switch /door pin switch ... they should find it either way ...
