Default swap cam sensor

my cam sensor is bad, and i have a new one but it is the wrong connector. would it work if i just cut the wires on it, and re soddered them? it is a used one from my friends car, and the wire colors are different. i dont know if it would work or not.

There are two different styles and I'm not sure if they are swappable or color codes of them ... I'd say best to get the correct one ...

They should have suggested/sold you the wire kit with the sensor. It's not hard to switch and it makes it a lot easier for future troubleshooting. They did the same thing for the crank sensor.
