Default Water Damage

I have a 99 avenger 2.5l v6 I was in an accident and my car went into a pond got it towed home all the electrical works. When I try to start my car the engine doesn't crank. It just makes a loud ticking noise. I want to know what could be wrong so i can fix it.

If it went in the water while running it might be hydrolocked. Im really hopin you battery or starter is fried or something. If its not just pull the spark plugs , get some of the stuff you put into your gas tank to get rid of water and pour a lil into the piston chambers (I heard rubbing alcohol works as well) spin the crank a lil and burn the tips of your spark plugs with a lighter to get rid of sum of that water on them re install and try it again.

As soon as I went into the water I turned the car off. I tried to jumped it and when I tried to start it up it was a loud ticking noise. It wouldn't crank at all.

If it truly hydrolocked the motor is likely toast .... I've seen severe piston/rod damage due to hydrolocking ...
