Bad Brakes?
After driving home from work today, I noticed a weird smell once I got out of the car. I looked around and noticed my Front Passenger side rim was steaming. I took the tire off to check out the brake, and burnt my fingers of the lugnuts.
So, any ideas on what may be making my brake heat up so much? My friend suggested a bad bearing or a partly jammed brake. But I'm not sure.

Remove the caliper and use a C clamp to depress it back into the housing if it moves smothly then loosen up the clamp and try hitting the brakes and watch the movement if it comes out and then returns back it's OK ... I've also seen the caliper pins being too dry (not lubed) cause similar troubles ...
If it's the caliper you can buy a rebuilt one fairly cheap

Jack it up and try to spin the wheel. If the wheel spins, step on the brakes and release them and try to spin the tire again.
If it gets are to spin after you hit the brakes with the caliper or brake hose is bad.
Take off the rim and unbolt the caliper.
Get something to push the caliper in, if it is hard to push in, open the bleeder and if it is still hard to push in the caliper is bad, if it goes in easy after you open the bleeder the line is bad.
Either way if you are interested in upgrading your brakes to GSX, let me know, we sell a complete bolt on package. We also sell stainless steel brake lines.
