Default glue like substance?

was working on my car today and noticed a Brownish gluelike substance under the car splattered all over like the CV joint & surrounding.. this is not happening on the other side. its not mud i can tell ya that lol it smells like a lubricant but i really just dont know. i no my struts are bad and need replaced, could this be a leaky strut or CV joint.. i really cant pinpoint where it is coming from since it is just randomly splattered around.

It's likely the lube from around the CV joint ... You can drive it but it CAN/WILL damage the CV joint/axle assembly ...
You can get a new boot for around $20/$30 The Axle with boot will set you back $100/$150

ok.. is the boot an easy do it yourself fix or shop recommended.. my grandfather is really good on cars, just doesnt have the time to help me work on it cause hes always at work. so if i can find some time i will take it over to him to fix so i can stay away from labor fee's
