Default HVAC Light / Cruise Control

Hey,

Where do you find the bulb which illuminates the HVAC controls at night ? Pulled the trim piece out around the controls but did not find the bulb.

Also, my cruise control turns on and I am able to set the cruise and the "cruise" light does come on but, it does not control the speed of the car. It thinks it's working but it is not.

Thanks in advance.

bulb is on the center rear of the hvac ... if you have skinny hands you can reach up and find the plug and untwist it ...

Cruise ...do your brake lights work right ???

I think BV is saying that the brake switch may be faulty. If that switch is bad, it will disengage the cruise and if that happens the cruise light won't come on. You could be having issues with the piece in the engine bay that moves the throttle cable.

The point is the cruise light does come on therefore I assume it is not the brake light switch.

Looking under the hood, I see what appears to be the throttle cable going through a black box, I assume this is the cruise control unit ?

Yup. Do you by chance have a junk yard around you with Avenger/Sebring/3G Eclipse cars in them?

I had a bad brake light switch , my cruise light stayed on but wouldn't hold speed ... After awhile I noticed the brake lights were staying on... The switch wasn't returning
(bad internal spring)

You may, but I would do BV's suggestion first as those switches are constantly beat on and are more common to go bad over the CC junction box.
