The reverse switch is on the tranny itself (I'm guessing you have a manual) Its the switch closest to the driver front on the tranny. Its a pretty easy fix, if you have the right size end wrench, or a crescent works too. But make sure you clean off around it really good before you take it out. Don't want that grease and dirt to fall into your tranny. If you want to test it un-plug it(assuming you know where it is), unscrew it, plug it back in and push the ball in while having someone stand behind the car. If the light doesn't come on then unplug the sensor and jump the two wires, then see if the lights come on. If they come on the second time then the sensor is bad. Or you could just leave it in and unplug it and jump the two wires. If the light works when you do that then more than likely its the switch on the tranny. Make sure that when your buying one that it is the right one, i noticed at napa the avenger sebring and eclipse all had different switches listed in their computer, only the one for the avenger i believe had the right plug.

I don't have my manual with me ... Do you have four relays on the firewall ??? certain venges have the fourth relay that is the reverse light too

You alright? its a 96 Avenger ES 5-speed manual. there are only two relays on my firewall between my Brake and clutch master cylinder. Will have to remove the battery to get to it?

What SENSOR do you need to replace Input speed sensor or output speed sensor ? Or the PRNDL sensor
