Question tranny problems "please read"

Hey all i havent been on in a little while but i had to stop in an see if i could get some help, the problems is my tranny it is going in to limp mode a awful lot here latley it all started when it got hot a few months back, now every time the car gets to a good warm temp and i am in stop in go driving or if im on the freeway rolling 80 then get off it will throw it self in to limp. i dont have a Check engine light or any other problems just the tranny. Now i know for a fact this thing is tired i have 195k on the car now! and i am almost ready for the 3.0 to be drop in i have a few other things i needa buy so i can have a fresh install. the thing is i wanna just rebuild the A604 with all the parts im gunna buy i have the list and a buncha pics but not some of the tools like the gauges and such to make sure things are right. question is do u all think its that hard? my brother and i where going to do the work until i read a few post about people saying its a pain in the u know what and i should just have a pro do it. but then there are others saying jump in an do it its not that hard at all. im not retarded when it comes to cars so i have the faith to do it but i dont wanna screw it up. what do u guys think can some one throw me in the right direction please? I wish i could find someone that knows what they are doing and just help me do it ya know, maybe a mechanic that is really really nice and wants to help a fella out with his tranny problem. "wink" so BadVENGE i live in ohio down by cincy do u know anyone that wont rape me on a rebuild i will have all the parts i just want someone that knows what there doing to do the work or even walk me thro it im down to get all dirty.. let me know guys thanks

Yea i beleave you told me about them i called them up and they quoted me like 8 grand for a bulliet proof build they said it would handle whatever i could throw at it. but 8 grand is way to much for me right now, i just wanna buy the parts and do it my self that way i know whats in it and i can learn a little something from it. does anyone know what special tools i would need to do the build?? is there a tranny man out there!!!! im looking for you! thanks BV but lvl 10 is outta my reach atm.

DAMN ,,,, When I had mine done it was $3200 plus shipping back ...
Thats just crazy ... Local place was like $2200 for a "Stock Rebuild" so I sprung the extra for them ....

Heres a thought, do you know anyone that works in a dodge shop that wiuld go through for you at a price. And if you don't, stop by a shop and ask around maybe some of the techs if they would like to make some extra cash.

I'm curious, Joe. What kind of tranny fluid do you have in there? When was the last time you had it changed? What color is it now and is it at spec level?
