Default Broken Drivers Seat

So basically my brudda was getting into my car to take it for a drive and he went to put the seat back and it must have broke or snapped the little crank on the side that controls the back rest. so now the back of my drivers seats lays back at a 35 degree angle and when I go and pull my latch on the side of my seat and pull my seat up. it doesnt stop or set to a proper position and just falls back down again. (he'll probably come on and explain better on what happened since I wasnt in the car with him at the time it broke)

Any ideas on whats wrong? what the problem is? how it can be fixed?

I claim responsability for breaking his seat(sorry :'( )

So ya i jumped in his car to take it for a drive and i believe i put too much force on the seat when i was shifting my body around. One of the recliner latches broke so it will no longer lock into place. What's the best way to get in to the recliner latches for the seat.

PS. Should be obvious but it's the driver side.

Default well.....

anytime that I have had to mess with the latch controls on my seats I have always taken the whole seat out. There is two bolts in the front and two in the back. I also remove the seats even when I clean the car at the car wash....

'Funny to watch people stare...HAH'

but anyway I think they are 13mm but I could be mistaken. To get to the back control latch you may have to take the housing off the side on the seat that protects the mechanism once the seat is out. Also depending on where you live it might be better to take it out and take it inside since it may be cold like it is where I live.

So I took the seat out(by the way its 14mm. just for the next time you clean your car). And I took the panels off for the mechanisms on the side, unzipped the back of the seat aswell and i cant figure it out. I believe the little cranks are messed up and wont lock forward anymore. So im pretty sure its scrap now. unless anyone else would know what to do.
