Default TCM flashing?

If I had my transmission computer flashed could this help if my car is not going into fourth gear or would I have to have the trans rebuilt?

The O/D comes on/off when I hit the overdrive button on the shifter, just as it should. It's not flashing though.

So, your car isn't able to go into overdrive then? Yeah, I don't think flashing the TCM will change that. When was the last time the fluid was changed, what color is it, are there any shiny flakes in it, and what are the RPMs and coordinating speed(s) that lead you to believe that you're not going into overdrive?

Nope, it doesn't go into overdrive. I changed the trans fluid about 2500 miles ago when I last changed the oil in order to avoid the problems that I know Chryslers are notorious for and it's still red. When the trans pan was dropped there were no gear shavings in the fluid. It shifts just fine on the streets up to about 40, but when I'm getting on the expressway and building up speed it does 60 at about 3.5krpm and does 70 at about 4.5krpm causing the cabin to be pretty loud from the engine since it doesn't go into overdrive. I got it parked now so that I don't burn up the engine or trans but according to a Chrysler tech, the final drive should engage at about 45mph and it should do 60 at 2.5krpm's

Is the solenoid located on the outside or inside the transmission?

I'd suggest having it CHECKED first at a tranny shop instead of blindly replacing parts ...
Your speedo does read speed ???
