Why may my car be dying?
It's a 98 Avenger ES.
I started it to let it warm up the other day went inside then when I came back out it had died. I tried to start it and it wouldn't so I sat in it for a few minutes and heard a click a few minutes after that it started.
Then later that same day as I was pulling into a parking spot it died. A few minutes later I heard the same click and I was able to start it.
I was talking to a friend and they said it might be the fuel cut off relay. He said this might happen as it goes bad.
If thats it how much would a new one run for and where is it located?
Thanks

I replaced the A.S.D. relay and the problem remains.
A friend that was looking at it with me said it might be a bad crankshaft postioning sensor. Could that be the problem? Other possible problems that would cause it to just die (no warning signs just dies)?
PS: Had it scanned and no codes were present.
Also just changed the oil and poured in 4 quarts have 1 left.
How much do you fill it with?

Like badvenge said if it cranks but doesn't start, then I would definitely change the crankshaft position sensor. Usually the fuel pump and auto shut down relays don't work intermittently, if their bad their bad, if their good their good. But I had a similar problem and even though my computer threw the camshaft sensor code (even though it was the crankshaft sensor) and yours didn't, it definitely sounds like the culprit
