Default Suspension question

How can you tell if I need new struts/mounts or if the rattling noise I hear when I hit a small bump is the sway bar links. I don't hear it all the time and the suspension is pretty tight (not bouncy) when I press up and down on the front end

How many miles are on the car/suspension now. If there are over 80K you are most likely in need of new struts anyways regardless of the bounce. I replaced mine at 110k and should have replace the coil spring at the same time because I still have the knock when I hit a bump on the left front.

Inspect the bushings first ... the A arms , the sway bar mounts ect they can be wore and rattling , also inspect the strut mounting the rubber can be shot as well
