Default 98 venge door lock problem

The passenger door automatic lock quit working on me. The drivers door buttom will lock and unlock the drivers door and the passenger side button will unlock the drivers door but not the passenger door. The key from the outside will do its job on both doors as well. Is there a controler in the passenger door panel that controls the automatic lock for the door? If so is it easy to replace and if so how much for a price?

Ok so it could be the door lock actuator, any ideas where to buy one?

i usually source out parts on rockauto online, and then check out the local auto stores to see if they are close enough to merit the drive over to them to get the part.

I'd check for voltage FIRST , there could be a bad switch/wires/ect

Ok :update: I have an intermittent door lock problem. With this new bit of information I am pretty sure it's a wiring problem.

I fully agree with bad venge. Its a lil more tedious to check wiring but will save you money in the long wrong. You could just replace the Passenger side door switch. I got both mine from the Junkyard you might to go new tho

To replace the switch takes about an hour alone 30 - 45 min with a partner. I always had trouble lining up the door panel, and kept breaking those red door tabs when removing the panel. On yeah if you do replace the switch be very careful when tightning down the 4 screws.
