I have a 2000 Dodge Avenger and wanted to see if anyone else had the same concern as I did. Whenever I shift from either reverse or drive I hear a clicking or popping noise. It also sometimes happens when I'm comming to a stop. The last thing I wanna hear is that the tranny needs to be rebuilt. I'm aware that these transmission have history of being problematic but I hope its something that can be repaired somewhat less expensive compared to buying or rebulding a transmission. IF you have the AUTO it's an A604 Tranny, and the clicking popping noise you here are the solenoid packs shifting , noise=normal
