RE: How many avenger owners
Best bang over a long period mods would be:
UDP
Cold Air Intake
Catback Exhaust
Nitrous System (Dry or Direct port with supporting mods like plugs, wires, fuel pump)
Engine Swap to either 3.0 or 3.5
Headers if you can find them
3k is alot of money to fork out, but worth the instant power when you look at it.
UDP - 160.00 with belts
CAI - 275.00 for AEM V2
2.5" Catback - 355.00 Bosal Brospeed
Nitrous - 550-1000 depending on the type of system
Engine swap - 1700-2700 depending on engine size
Headers - 600.00 depending on where you find them
All of this and without shipping or taxes added
Now, let's say you go with the lower half of everything, you're looking at a minimum $3600. That is a 3.0 SWAP WITH HEADERS, DRY NITROUS KIT, AND ALL LISTED ABOVE
Things like the SAFC or other supporting mods aren't included in this... to many options but again you'll need things like a fuel pump injectors, fuel/timing control.
Let's estimate power
UDP- 7HP FREED up, (not made)
CAI-7WHP
CATBACK - 2-5WHP GAINED
NITROUS (50SHOT) 45-50 WHP GAINED
ENGINE SWAP - 15-20WHP GAINED
HEADERS - 11-20WHP GAINED
Amount of WHP gained is anywhere from 82-110whp on a 3.0 with the 50shot dry. If not using an AFC or something to control fuel curve, roughly about 90whp average tune when on the bottle. Street driving knock 45whp off, and you've gained 60whp daily when not hitting the bottle. When averaged out, that is about $60.00 per 1 WHP gained, again these are averages. This doesn't take into account reciprocating investment of filling the bottle. These are also mods you can build up to and aquire over time which is really why I push alot of people this route.
Now, lets look at a 2.5L stage 1 turbosystem
STG1 - is about $2995.00 inlcudes everything you'll need down to spark plugs.
Stage 1 should produce about 200-210whp on a bone stock 2.5L engine (221whp has been proven with a 2.50 catback on the old system) This is daily driven power that you don't need to refill and maintaining it is just like maintaining your vehicle before. The system is non intrusive and you don't have to modify anything but the oil pan to fit the oil drain line. Removing the system and selling the car is as simple as unbolting everything you put in, and bolting up stock components. Nothing will look out of place with the exception of the oil oan and the fact that the fans are now in front of the condensor (unless you swap back to the stockers).
A stage 1 turbosystem is roughly about 15 dollars per WHP gained at the lowest scale of 200whp gained. for 900 more you net even more HP (265-280whp) which when matched with the HP per dollar is even lower ($13.70)
Add into the turbosystem a 3.0 swap and the numbers are about 15-20% higher due to the increase in displacement. It all depends on what you want your end goal to be and what you're able to do to get there. Another good thing about doing the pay as you go with bolt on mods like the list above is that alot of what is there can be sold to recoupe costs. There are always people looking for things and every little bit helps. Unfortunately you won't get what you paid for them, but again it is money in the bank.

RE: How many avenger owners
Hey Steve, i have heard from someone that you were located in Wauconda. If this is true i would like to maybe meet up in person and possibly talk about the turbo kit and if possible maybe take a ride in exile 1. I don't know if this possible you might have it torn apart but seeing the finished priduct would probably go a long way in me savign for the kit. Once again if you are unable to do this for any reason i completly understand but i live in McHenry so if you truely are located in Wauconda it would be a short trip. Thanks for breaking it down like that i don't think i have ever thought about it like that. Hope to talk to you soon.
