I'm at the same place as you with our Caravan. Light comes on even when you don't press the on button. I replaced the clockspring since that's a known issue with Caravans and the cruise buttons all go through it. When that didn't work, I replaced the servo.
When that didn't work, I thought I had it narrowed down to the ECU since everything goes through there but that didn't do anything. I then replaced the on-off-set button and that also didn't work. I've tried checking voltages at the brake light switch and at the connection on the servo that vents the vacuum. I also disconnected the resume/cancel button on the theory that it was permanently canceling the cruise command but no go.
I'm assuming that the vehicle speed sensor is ok since the transmission shifts well and the speedometer works.
I just can't imagine what else it could be unless there's some input that the ECU doesn't like.

How do I get the cruise switch out? My 'resume' button is stuck (since yesterday) and the cruise won't function.
I've removed the airbag module and the single screw in the rear of the switch assembly, but something is still holding it to the wheel. I don't want to force it and break something else!

This is on my '05 Town & Country.

I'm assuming your 2005 is the same as my 2001 but there were 2 screws from what I remember. You might have to tuck your head back in there to see if there is a screw you are missing.

Thanks, there were two tiny screws; I had to use a knife blade to remove them. The metal switch plate was bad, so I tossed it. I moved the plate from the 'coast' button to the 'accel/resume' button. I NEVER 'coast' LOL.

My cruise is now working. All I did was do a routine transmission service and lo and behold, everything works.
All I can figure is that when the cruise light was always lit on the dash, it was actually indicating a problem. I have no clue as to why changing the fluid would cause the problem to go away but there you go.
