I am gathering parts to install a car pc into the dash of a 2000 dodge avenger and i would like to know how much room there is in the dash?? i might go as far as installing it by the firewall if needed

IF you swap to an eclipse console 95/99 it gives you a double din opening and more room
and a larger screen size. I mounted the carputer under the seat feeding a touch screen

 

how much would a eclipse console cost? the car pc case i want to mount is twice the height of a regular car pc thats why i would like to find room behind the dash.

 

theres not much room behind the dash I fit a PS2 behind the glovebox its tight thats why I went underseat

the eclipse console can be $50/$80 junkyard price

i studied your photo and ran outside to my car just to see the difference and the eclipse center console will fix all my problems. btw i have a single din aftermarket radio that has a screen that extends out and flips up, with this eclipse console i can now use the screen because the shifter will not get in the way! sweet i am now on a mission to find one!

You will need side panels and the eclipse HVAC and the eclipse radio cage and the shfter plate as well

 

Alright now i have ordered black center console and carbon fiber side panels for it.
now all i need it hvac, radio cage and shifter plate.

im currently looking for the shifter plate but all im finding is the whole A/t Shifter.
