The 99 Avenger sport a recently purchased has a broken drivers seat. The seat back is fully reclined and will no engage in any position.

I'm interested in what models this cars seat are easily interchangable. The seat sits very high and gives me no head room as well. I dont see how anyone taller than 5'10 could sit up straight without thier head rubbing.

 

95-99 eclipse seats showed up under search. That the only availbe direct swap? How are the 95-99 eclipse seats compared to my avenger cloth seats?

 

Little more searching seems like the 95-99 eclipse/talon, 95-2000 Avengers & sebrings. Now i got enough cars to search the salvage yard. Thanks for the help guys. Will get pictures of the different seats if i can to compare them.

 

You are on the right path. Good luck. Some have tried to swap with neon seats, but I dont know if it worked.

Did we share seats with any of the galant models? I know i read on allpar the platforms were similar. Weather is pretty crappy in St. Louis atm. Might be a few weeks before i get a day in the 50's that im free to check.

 

I read on a forum that the Avenger was a unique car built by Mitsubishi in Normal IL. with parts from the Eclipse and the Galant. I know that my interior is almost identical to my daughter's Eclipse that we sold. If you find that Galant seats are the same let us know. I have a bad motor in my driver's seat and that will give me another option.

 

Np i will check the galants and other models when im there and take some comparative picture of all the seats i find that should fit. Its sub freezing here and i get frostbite on my finger tips easy. Once i a day i the 50's comes around i'll do this.

 

I replaced just the seat back portion and kept the rest of the seat frame and bottom section. Its the actual upper cushion to frame that broke. The welds that holds the two bolts to the frame broke not the frame itself. I just replaced the back cusion with another one.

I did test something very interesting. With some simple brackets i could fit 3000gt/stealth seats into the factory frame.
