You should buy a Haynes manual at Autozone or something. It tells you were everything is and how to fix or change it. It's a good investment for about $16.

Hey, thanks for the tip on where the fuel filter is located. I've been looking for that dam thing for almost a year!!! I had a 95 avenger and it was located on the firewall, but when I got my 97 it wasn't in the same place. As far as a Haynes book, it is the biggest waste of $16 ever. That book absolutly sucks. for any little and easy thing they want you to remove all kinds of body panels. really stupid. You are better off buying a chiltons manual, which still does not give you the exact location of the fuel filter but has better details on the vehicle.

Yeah, both manuals do go to extremes when talking about removing things and that's for all cars, but that's where common sense should kick in and tell you that all these things that it says to remove doesn't have to be, lol. Most of it is just mentioned to make things easier for absolutely new guys and gals (easy not fast). IMO, they are meant to show you a view that you may not have thought of for the amateur to the skilled and it's a preview of things to come for the novice....but it's by no means a bible to the car.
Like avengerdude27 said, "get a factory service manual and be done with it". They get down to the nitty gritty, no advice, no hints, just what you need to know.
