Default Couple of questions about the 96 2.0 DOHC motor.

Can you put a turbo on the stock motor for a 96 venge 2.0 DOHC?

Or does it have to be rebuilt with high tolerance parts so you dont burn her up?

Been considering a turbo and exhuast upgrade.

Also whats the the engine govenor limit the car too for speed?

I had her up to 100mph once, it also seems like it could use a 6th gear. Just curious on this part as I dont want any more speeding tickets, I just wanted to see if it could get there, then I backed off. Plus I dont beat on my motors.

Cant understand why the youngsters ride down my 25mph road doing 30mph in 2nd gear runing 9 million rpms, usually with black smoke pouring out.

Yes, you can turbo your motor without upgrading to forged internals....only....if you keep the boost below (IMO) 8psi. I say 8psi because I don't know the state of your motor. Before you add a turbo to it, make sure it's running strong first or you may be buying a new one, lol. I forget what the I4s are governed at. My 2.5 ES had "H" rated tires meaning that they are stable to 130mph and that motor was governed to 130mph too.

I don't understand why they do that either, they're just running rich in 2nd unless they are just trying to show off their loud exhausts or trying to make their exhaust sound louder
