The pads looked almost brand new when I took them off. It's not to humid here in FW, but usually pretty hot.

New pads do have a break in period, same with rotors.
You might still be in the break in period. You can do it the way JokeR suggested or just wait till the break in period is done.
I think the process with the pads on the car was a few miles of light braking with a few miles of hard braking, then you're done with the break in preiod. There is normally a light coat of oil/grease or whatever they put on the surface that needs to be cleaned off whether on the car or off. I don't have the shims either so I won't say that it's because you don't have them on.
How many miles do you have on them now Robert?

They've been on a while; It's getting close to an oil change.

Still haven't gotten the wheels off to X the pads. I think I'll get a chance this weekend. How hard is it to paint the calipers? I saw a kit at Autozone or Pepboys I forget which.

Re-gooped all the pads, did the X thingy and painted the calipers this weekend.

No more squeal, <CHEERS>

I painted the calipers silver, in tribute to silvercoupe (OK not really was only color I liked out of the choices, but it’s the thought that counts) It was raining so I didn't take any pics (I was painting under the patio umbrella, lol).

I think I'm having the same type of promblem, do I need to use braking grease that they sell at Autozone, or can I just use any type of grease? I've got a tube of universal grease lube that I was going to use.

The thing about that brake grease is that it dries to a plastic like film. It's not like "grease" as we know it.
