Default Brake Squeak problem

My brakes are squeaking, it's very annoying. I bought new pads and some brake quiet. The pads that where on there looked fine so I just put the brake quiet on. This solved the problem for about a day, now they are squeaking again. I didn't have the discs turned or measured.

Any ideas?

Edit ... quite <> quiet now

I had the same problem pimp, and I didnt even go get new brake pads, I just went and got my oiled changed, and ya know when they do that, they also top off all your fluid which includes BRAKE FLUID, and when I drove off, the squeaking stopped, and I haven't heard it since!! I was totally shocked!! So I would check your levels of brake fluid, that could be the problem!

If it's only squealing when you apply the brakes, I would check....
the little metal brackets that hold the pads in place, apply more of the brake quiet all over the brake pad plate and that bracket. The pads could be to small for that bracket to keep from moving around and vibrating.
If it squeals when you're not pressing the brakes, then...
The piston could be expanding causing constant pressure to the brake pads ever so slightly. Maybe you could do some heavy stopping to rub some of the pad material down a bit or press the piston back a bit while you apply more brake quiet.
There's just too many things and variables that could be the culprit. If you have time try all of the above.

Only squeaks when I brake, normal braking. Doesn't squeak with light braking. I'll check the fluid. The pads don't have any shims or anything it's just the pads with the brake quiet. I coated the back of all 4 pads, maybe I put them on to soon ... I'll check them tomorrow morning.

Ah, that could be it Robert, putting them on too soon will just spread them out, on the contact areas, causing the spot(s) to have a thin layer instead of a thicker layer.
See, there's a variable

okay i had the same problem on my dads 89 mustang. is it stock pads or aftermarket?

ifs it after market then its 100% this problem, take the pads off clean the roaders with varsol, then clean the pads off. After that is done take 50grit sand paper and sand ur break bads pads just make them ruff. Once this is complete take a hacksaw and make an X on it like in my crappy paint picture. Then reinstall the pads, do this even if there not aftermarket pads its something that is used to make the pads that causes them to squeal even know the pads arnt woren down to there squealers.

EDIT: make the X about 2mm deep its helps with cooling and gives that dust somewhere to go

Fluid is between low and max. So must not be that.

I didn't get a chance to re-brake quiet them this morning ... got up late. I did spray the rotors with brake cleaner and the squeak went away for a bit so I'm thinking it's that the pads need broken in like JokeR says.
