Default start then wont start

I recently changed the fuel pump in my 98 Avenger. After it was changed and system recharged I drove the car that night then went to drive it the next day. It started then I moved it but went back out to start it and it wouldnt start. A couple of hours later it started again but then after shut it off it wouldnt start later. A couple days went by and it started but then it wouldnt start again. A couple more days it started and so on. What is the problem? Am not trying to fix a million things to finally figure out what the problem is. Can anyone help?

Have you tried to swap the relays around yet? They can cause similar issues too.

The lower one is the one that gives most the issues. You can change them both if you like and it wouldn't hurt, but the bottom one is the usual suspect. The other one is built into the distributor (not very inexpensive btw).
Have you swapped around those relays (the ones that you refer to as sensor I think). Just move everything over to the right or left, but keep note of which one started where. Take a perm. marker and label them as 1, 2, 3, and then move them around

There's info in the FAQ section about the relays also.

What mine did was it would start, run for about 5 min the quit and wouldnt restart for a few min. This cycle continued for about a week until i guess the sensor went totaly bad and left me stranded.Your check engine light should be on if this is an issue. I would check the three relays Silvercoupe is talking about first. There are three located driver side, just below windshield in engine bay. They are black and kinda cube shaped. Also do you hear the fuel pump start when you switch key on?Did you change the fuel filter when you changed pump? Any trouble codes?

Yeah mine would start and stay running but then if i shut it off it might or might not start back up. No light came on at all until i changed the csp. I think im just gonna have it put on computer.
