E brake

RE: E brake
Had the same problem years ago. It was caused because my e-brake line was seized up by road salt, and the light never went off till i took it in to get looked at, it ended up costing me several hudred coin to get the brakes fixed. So my advice is to get it looked at now, and dont be a moron like i was!

RE: E brake
If you can drive with it on and not feel it, you most likely need to have the pads changed.
Any component of the brake system will cause the light to come on guys. You can easily check the fluid and the pads. Make sure that the e-brake is fully released because driving with it on doesn't help.

RE: E brake
The ebrake isn't designed to stop the car, it's more for grabbing a hold of the drum around it and holding it in place (like when parked). I don't know if some of you guys have ever seen the ebrake pads....but they aren't big (small surface area and thin).
Stop thinking about drifting guys...the stock ebrake is on the opposite end of the that spectrum.
Goose is correct, you may or you may not feel it while moving. I know that I can feel the ebrake release on my car...that's assuming that I left it applied before moving and at a slow speed, release the ebrake and you may feel it. If you can't there may not be enough there to hold the car in place (if you're a manual).
