Default Alternator capabilities...

I have a 2 channel amp that puts puts out about 480 watts RMS to two subwoofers. I want to get a 80 x 4, 4 channel amp to power some speakers. Is my alternator going to be able to handle this in my 98 Avenger SE? I just want to make sure I will be ok.

If you are a V6 then the alternator is 110 amps ..That will safely run 1000 watts with just an optima battery upgrade

Because you need a fast draw/recharge capable battery. The normal off the shelf Duralast won't last and can't keep up.
I had the same issue back in the day and I upgraded to a gel cell and poof no more issues.
You can try it with your current setup, but it's guaranteed your headlights will start to dim along with the bass notes sooner than later.

Shop around locally ... The Optima are usually easist to find , but Stinger, Odessey and Batcaps are all good ones due to weight and shipping they are best bought locally ...

So which one of these will fit and do you recommend? The cheapest model that will work, the better for me. I just want to get the model that I need and then I can shop around. Thanks again for all your help

I put in my car info and it said no products available for my car.
