Cranks --- Yes

Fuel pump --- Yes

Spark --- I think I have checked this out in the past and believe it does. I will verify tonight and post tomorrow.

One more item you might know. Where is the oil pressure sending unit located on this car?

Thanks Venge!!

Venge,

Yes there is spark, fuel pump does run and the engine does crank over. It just doesn't fire. I checked the plugs last night and they didn't appear to be very wet. I don't know if the injectors are firing or not. Is there some electrical sensor that may be getting damp that would control the injectors? I don't know, Im just shooting into the air anymore for info.

Oh and I found the oil sending unit. It appears that it is right above the filter.

They sell test lights (Noids) that check if the injectors are firing ... I think Autozone "loans" them

OK, I don't have an Autozone anywhere near me so is there a way to test witha volt meter? That leads me to my next question; what if they aren't firing? I have also read I may have an issue with the distributer, cap, rotor, or cam position sensor. Is there anyway to test this? I am really getting tired of this issue. Oh yea and 250.00 for the distributer is a little extreme.

If it has spark.....I doubt that it is the Dist..which also houses the cam sensor..if it only does it when it is damp out..it could be as simple as a cracked dist. cap..just a hairline crack will cause moister to get in and it could cause it not to start...and how long did you crank it over..I know when my son's 97 avenger dist went bad it just shut off and would not start again...and when we pulled the plugs they where wet..no spark at all..new dist from autozone $219.00 lifetime warranty..and it fired right up.

I was able to get a new cap and rotor. The original ones were pretty coroded and burnt. When I installed the new ones it started. I guess we will see what happens. Hopefully this will finally take care of the problem so I can look forward to replacing the timing belt this spring.
