Angry My 1st mishap with my truck... Rant

So, I was resetting my "maintenance required" light.. Once done I locked up my truck n went in the house. I sit down n thought "did I bring my keys in!?!" NOPE I didn't... I locked them in my truck.. Argh!!!

Now I gotta go buy a "door jimmy" tomorrow n see if I can unlock it... Fun Fun!!

I'm not sure if the coat hanger trick will work. Since the lock is a "pull-up" type lock.. Nothing really to grab onto..

Dang that sucks! I just got a few questions.

Don't you have spare keys inside the house?

I normally have at least 1 spare set inside the house. And I keep 1 key in my wallet in case I am not home and lock them in. That key has saved me so many times. I'm always listing to the radio at my friends or offroading.

How did you reset the Maintenance Required light?

As far as I knew you had to have the correct scanner to to.

I just got the truck 2 days ago. Usually the 1st thing I do is get spare keys.. But I haven't yet. Go figure this would happen to me..

I searched n searched on this site until I found the right info on resetting the light. There was a module under the dash below the headlight switch. It was blue in color n it had a button. I had the truck running then I pressed the button with a toothpick. N now the light is no longer on..

Cool! Could you do me a favor. Can you do a write up on reseting it?
Post up some pictures of its exact location and the button location. I will post that in the FAQ for others to use.

Will do. At the moment my digi-cam is "hiding" from me... But I'll plan on doing it tomorrow if I have to borrow my buddies digi-cam.
