Default 92 dakota 5.2 4x4 rebuild journal

I recently purchased a 1992(mfg1991) Dakota LE, 235k miles not running. It has a straight body and complete. Guy I bought it from claims only needs starter and transmission sensor. Truck has every option like bucket seats, plastic bed liner, headache rack, brush gaurd, gull wing tool box, electronic braking controller, and tow bracket.

It needs to be sanded and repainted quick, has some RUST! Gonna sand down the trouble spots hit it with rust converter and spray a primer to bandage the issue until i can repaint the whole truck.

Saved the truck from galveston, tx and the salt air did a number on this old truck. Thanks for reading.

Yeah, looks like a nice project. I have a similar plan for my '93, but it needs a whole new frame. I happened to find a rust free frame, so that's good.

Anyways, I look forward to reading your progress. It'll probably give me some ideas.

considering its age it lived up well.... it looks worst then it is due to side moulding being missing... it has potential and easily touched up with tremclad at the moment

if you think that's rough guys come up here we see 2008's with more rust... hahaha

anyway goodluck on your venture with this project.. it should be a good one... if you want idea's what lil money can do check out my beast..

Thanks for the responses!
I pulled the trim off. Im going to be selling the trim, headache rack, and bed liner. Use the money to buy primer, paint, and spray liner.

I have a feeling that my only real issue is the possible corroded red wires under fuse box. Ill have to get in during the week and see whats free to fix.

Im having a lot of the same issues as others electrically as others on the internet.

Went to lowes and got ceap oil, filter, and 2 cans of seafoam. Will be getting another 5qt oil + filter, plugs, wires, and airfilter tomorrow. Once i get her started i will do the tune up.
I want to change the new oil with seafoam 500-1000 miles in with fresh high milage synthetic dinasour sauce.
