Found a truck with even less aftermarket support than a first gen Dak!
Sorry this is off topic but this forum gets so little traffic I hope it's okay. I found a Mazda B2600i (not the one in the picture, but exact same), 2wd, 5 speed. 90,000 original miles and taken care of very well. Not a show car, body dings here and there and chipped paint, but very little rust and everything is super clean for a salt belt truck. Engine runs amazing. But looking online I have found VERY little information about this truck. It is an actual Mazda-made Mazda with no Ranger influence, which for finding parts is not a great thing.
I don't really have any desire to get rid of my Dakota and I'm not gonna have two trucks atm but I was thinking of surprising my dad with this. I think he'd like it as a run-around truck, seeing as his Silverado has seen much better days. I wish it was 4wd but realistically he would never need it as he's got a Subaru for winter driving and I would urge him to not drive it in the winter anyway for preservation purposes. It's been taken care of this long, I want to keep it that way.
Right, this one is a '93 so it's the Mazda G6 engine which was used only in the B2600 and the MPV. Not gonna win any races but it makes decent power for a 4 banger.
Very nice truck! Your Dad will love it if you decide to give it to him, I know I would!!!!! I lost my Father two years ago, cherish your time with him!!!!
Back around 1979-80 I drove one of those. At that time, that thing felt like a rocket!! 7000 rpm motors were just unheard of!!
I did not! That's super cool, I know that people swapped the B-series to rotaries pretty often because the bellhousing is the same as and RX-7 I think but I never knew that a rotary was ever in a truck from the factory. And a 130 pound engine making 110 hp is pretty nifty haha.

Indeed. He bought me my first car and now I have the means to return the favor (albeit not a very expensive one).
Always liked those little mazdas, you don't see many around though, frames rusted bad and they cracked in half between cab and box. That one looks pretty clean though.
Problem for me has always been that I don't fit in them, too tall and not enough leg room.
