Maybe this has been answered before, but only found it discussed for second generation. Trying to fabricate a new parking brake handle from metal (factory was plastic) and I can't figure out what size nut fits the metal threaded part that is connected to a small cable on one end and the plastic "brake" pull handle on the other end. My calipers measure the outside threads at about 10.6 millimeters which doesn't seem to fit any standard thread size. It almost looks like the factory threaded rod is tapered. The threads look messed up, but a plastic piece fits on there, so that is weird. Don't know if that is the factory "look" of the threads, or if a previous owner butchered the threads somehow? I just don't know. Plus it is flat on two side, which complicates the matter even more. Thank you.
