Default Chrome Valve Covers

I wouldn't think this would be tech related? but I could be wrong.

A while back I was looking around for some after market valve covers for the 239 V6, and pretty much what I found was that you either had the magnum V6 valve covers or the LA V6 valve covers so choose from (I hear you can use the LA valve covers on the Magnums but at the risk of a valve cover leak). I also caught wind that there used to be chrome LA V6 valve covers for a short time in the late 80's, but they're about as elusive as the 4 barrel LA V6 intake.

Imagine my surprise when I found a set on Ebay

I'll admit, it was an impulse purchase, but I believe that I'll be using them in my future, hopefully soon

I've got something else that I've found, regarding the 239, though it's almost 12x the price of this. I'll keep my mouth shut about it though. That's for others to find out themselves

So you're not going to take them out of the bag for a photo?

Pardon the delay, here's a picture of those chrome valve covers. They're absolutely beautiful without a doubt.

I also happened to spot this on FB market place and bought it with no second thoughts, something I had to have with how rarely you see em. I think I picked it up for $500? Either way I'd say it was worth it. It'll be cleaned up, gasket matched (at the very least), and properly clear coated before the time comes to install it. Gotta say, it's exciting to finally have after hearing so much about em but to barely see anyone own them.

IMO the big key is to find an electronic ignition distributor for the 3.9. Without it, pretty much have to stay stock, again, IMO.
At one time I searched mainly for the distributor, or even the reluctor, and try to modify with a V8 distributor to work, but never found one.
Again, JMO but in the end, I think you are better off, buying a magnum V8, using a edelbrock 7577 intake, whatever distributor you want, (I used a GM hei style) and put two electric fans between the radiator and condenser.
You can even use a stock 92-96 V8 dakota exhaust.
But I do look forward to seeing your progress. Afterall, hotrodding is all about doing something different!! Good luck!

I've been cooking up an ignition system made from a couple different mopar ignition systems and distributors.

Now, I've been doing a lot of reading and searching, and I've found a couple of people who have been to pull of using a 318 dizzy with a /6 reluctor wheel despite the difference in ignition timing. The two opposing points that I've read is: according given information, it should ping all over the place and not run right. However, on the other side of the spectrum, a good handful of people have been able to assemble it and supposedly it purrs like a kitten.

The only trouble is that no one has solid video evidence of one of these set ups actually running. I'm hoping that in the spring I'll be able to give said video.

I stand corrected.
