I Think It's Time To Say Good BYE!!
Ok, well I’m finally realizing that I cant afford this truck anymore. Gas is too much for me right now, so I’m thinking of selling the truck, it’s a 1990 Dakota 3.9l v6 160,000KM on it and there is nothing wrong sept a little rust. (I have all the panels to fix the rust) What I’m wondering is how much do you think I could sell it for? Here is a pic for reference.

I refuse to sell my dakota unless everything started breaking on it. I have had it for a year and she still hasnt broke down, not even after a 6000 mile road trip. I am working so hard on getting the mpg up right now it is only 11 and I have replaced the O2 sensor, spark plugs, new water pump cause the old one started to leak, removed the tailgate.
Things to do:
1. Flush heater core
2. Get some Sea Foam
3. Change to Synthetic oil
4. New headers, muffler, and high flow cat
5. Electric radiator fan
6. Exaust header wrap (helps reduce heat under the hood)

With all the money you spend on a new exhaust and headers you can sure buy a lot of gas. Same with converting to an electric fan. The break even point will be WAY down the road.
and taking off you tailgate does nothing good for your mpg, do a search on google, if its not mentioned on this site, but somehow having the tailgate up is better for your mpgs than not having one, and a tonneu (sp?) cover is better yet
adding a tonneau cover maybe added a half mpg to my 89, bigger tires added another 1 aproximatly. the bigger tires give me better on highways, but if you do a lot of short trips on back roads they drink gas on mine. im up near 17 on a 200 mile trip up and back to camp everyweekend, mostly highway.
