Anybody ever paint there intake manifold? I read in the mopar 318 book that its not recommend and it doesn't say why. Whereas my machinist says its not a problem.
It's no problem at all. Mind you, you'll need to use good high-temp engine paint to get it to last any amount of time. The manual might be talking about painting the entire thing, including gasket surfaces? That would not be a good idea.
ya im probley not even gonna prime it just spary some glossly black on there I figured not to paint gasket surfaces and injector hole, when im done it gonna look goooood[sm=shades.gif]
clear coat does yellow at high temps, espically right around were the intake meets the block, forget about it it will cause problems in the long run. looks pretty before you start it, but's it's all downhill from there.
