i thought i had high oil pressure all of the time till it blew the top off of the oil pressuer sending unit going down the road, the new one does not stay up there all of the time, it stays about in the middle or a little lower, so you may want to keep an eye on it.

I know the oil sending unit does regularly act up. I had 2 leak on me. Just check your oil level and make sure your using the corect oil. too thick of oil can cause this I think.

I've also seen theproblem with mismatched components...i.e. a30 PSI sending unit transmitting to a guage designed for 20 lbs max.

You could also check the PCV, might just might be some what of the problem, thick oil will do it to but I used lucas oil once before and I didn't notice a pressure change and that stuff is like thick syrup.

Damn yea I'm thinking im gonna put some lucas back in there after she burns some more oil down, when I replaced my rear seal behind the drum I just used some synthetic oil and i didn't notice a difference. BTW alterboy not to change subject but your dashboard is really nice and bright, did you change the bulbs behind there because mine is to dull
