I have a 30 foot 5th wheel, 10000 gross vehicle weight, every 60 days I need to move it from one rv spot to another, in other words a block or two at most.
I have a 91 Dakota with the 5.2 if I add some helper/overload springs to the rear will the 5.2 handle it? Is there anything else I need to do this?
it will do it but its definately pushing it haha the 91 5.2's are nothing like the 92 and ups but overloads/or air bags and that truck should move it but certainly wont be happy doing it
LOL ive got the 96 and on the bumper it says gross weight no more then 2000, tongue weight no more then 200..but i guess thats because it doesnt have the tow package, the ball is just on the bumper.
You can add a leaf, spring helpers. But for a heavy load like that you should use airbags. They should be easy to install. Check out summitracing.com or jcw.com for parts. The 5 wheel goes in the bed not a hitch. So just airbags will do it.
