Default New to the forum!!

Don't know why I never stopped by here before considering the dakota has been in the family since new. I took it away from my dad about 4 years ago. 95 318 87,000mi. I Love it!! (cept its not a srt-10 hah). I got a few questions and I apologize if they have been asked before, but i did not run across them in my brief search.

1. I've been biting my tongue long enough about getting new headlights and covers. I guess the question is, what HID kit would anyone recomend. Call it lame or what not, but I like the blueish tint bulbs like 6000K or maybe i might splurge and go for the 8000K, but with the 100000001 different manufacturers out there which one have any of you used and would you buy from them again?

2. Along the same vein, the stock headlight covers are completely hazed over and I am looking for new ones. I saw some pictures of dakotas with all clear (white) covers (see pic #2 *photoshop*) but can't seem to find them online. What are they and who sells them?

3. Does anyone have experience with any type of performance chips on the 318's? If so, is it worth the huge hole in the wallet?
Thanks for the help and I will deff. be hanging around here more often!
Here comes the good part, my baby...

HIDs off E-bay. Seller - GreatHIDkits. Find the 8000k 9004s on the 125 OBO and offer 80. It'll be 80 + 19 shipped.

You'll want to try and clean the covers as best you can. Flitz and a powerball or some product from Walmart. Kensai might chime in on that.

I don't think they made Euro/Clear headlights for this style Dakota

I wouldn't do HIDs unless you custom fit a projector into each of the light housings. HIDs in stock housings look like crap.

..and I'm unsure on good chips for the 318.

nice truck man! welcome to the forum.

+1 with ebay for your clear headlight lenses..

theres many ways ive heard to clean the headlight part though, heres one example..https://dodgeforum.com/m_569150/tm.htm

ive seen people put minty tooth paste on the headlight, let it sit for 10 mins, and wipe off, repeat a couple times until happy with results..

wow thanks for the quick responses!

Please bare with me as I am new to this headlight game..
What exactly do you mean by a projector?

I found white (clear) corner lights on ebay but not the bottom two rectangles, is there a company who makes a complete kit like badkotas style?

And I can vouch for the toothpaste trick, works like a charm. But as far as I know the headlights are a sealed unit, so I can only do the outside of the covers which leaves the inside still slightly hazed over. Either way, the toothpaste works slick.

If you've seen Escalades or whichever vehicle with HIDs, they look like little bubbles that project the HID straight on, where as a stock housing shoots it everywhere.

Here's some pictures of a Gen II done up.

Thanks for all the help eveyone! One last question...
Ive searched for awhile now but can't find any projector casings. Does someone make projectors for the 9004 size bulbs? Or is there a certin model/make substitute that would work?
