92 Dakota won't run.................Heeeeeelp
I just bought a 92 Dakota with a 3.9, 5 speed & it wouldn't start the day i was picking it up from my neighbor across the street. I've never owned a Dodge before so i'm kind of at a loss for their inherent "issues". Anyway, it doesn't have a spark & i haven't heard the fuel pump, however it does crank over nicely. During my internet hunt for a solution, I came across this wonderful Forum. So, my question is, do the 92 models have this "splice" issue as well? I took the PDC off the fender wall & cut open the loom, however i didn't find these three red wires that are spliced together as noted in earlier posts. I did however find several black wires spiced together with some corrosion but they don't look too bad. There were several red wires with white stripes coming out of the PDC that went rearward, however i couldn't find a splice anywhere. I sliced off some insulation on each of them & checked for power when the key was on. They were all powered up. I also swapped some relays around as they were identical but still no spark. Any ideas for this Dodge neophite?
Thanks,
Colin
