Default Seat Hinges

I am looking for the seat mechanism that cause the seat to fold forwards for a 92 extended cab. I am not sure what fits it or what they are called. Thanks in advance. All help/suggestions are welcome.

I think I know what your talking about. But dakotas dont use them. I know ramchargers did. So did broncos. That would be a cool mod if thats what your doing.

This isn't really an answer to your question... but I have to ask this out of curiosity. I recently picked up a '92 extended cab with the split bench seat and the drivers side seat folds forward without activating any sort of release mechanism and I am concerned about the safety of this. Is this normal for this model/year seat? The passenger side doesn't flip forward at all. Anybody have some feedback. Thanks

On my 93 extended cabthe passenger side seat will fold forward then slide all the way forward without using the lever. On the driver side you can only fold it forward, you actually have to pull the lever to make it slide forward. All my friends told me that the passenger side seat is broken and thats why it will fold and slide without a lever. They claim that the switch mounted on the back and to the side of the seat is what you are supposed to lift up on to make it fold/slide. I tested this theory on the driver side and it didnt do anything.

My pass. side seat slides forward without the lever also, the drivers side does not. I have looked into other dodge cars w/similar seats and most seem to have the same problem. And yes, the button on the back side of the seat is "supposed" to be a button for the seat but it literally takes a hammer to move.

Yeah my 96 ext cab has the same thing going on, but the passenger side just folds forward. When i first got it was jammed and the back lever was missing, so a lot of WD-40 and then a zip tie was put in for something to pull on and that took care of it, not that pretty though.

my 89 4x4 sport doesn't. the 88 i had for parts doesn't either. i think in an accident the seatbelt keeps you from moving forward, therefore the back of the seatdoesn't move forward.
