Thumbs up Scored some wheels, now questions

So I was leaving the junkyard yesterday and noticed a set of wheels and tires off of a 2nd gen 4wd dakota stacked up by the fence. Upon inquiry I was able to score them with tires for the low low price of $119 (had 32x11.50s on four of the wheels, one has a 31x10.50)

Anyway, to the questions.

I already have a 2 inch suspension lift that I am in the process of installing. I have one side done and noticed a fair amount of rubbing at full lock with the 31 up front. I am most likely going to have to sell these tires and get something like 30x9.50, or find some sort of spacer? These wheels are I believe 15x8s with a little more backspacing compared to my stock 6 inchers.

The rear took the 32's no problem and the truck looks killer.. I'm just not having much luck with the front.

I'll post some pictures when I get it back on the ground!

31's should fit with only very minimal rubbing if any at full lock. And I know they work on stock suspension, no lifts, or torquing of the torsion bars, cus I have 31x10.5's on my '95 completely stock.

Here is how it sits now. This is a 2wd sport model.. Used the spring spacers which I'm not too fond of.. Wish there was another cheap/effective way to do it. The springs have a bit of an arch to them now, I wasn't able to get one of the shocks reinstalled because of it, so I may have to figure something out.

I like how it looks a lot better. Used to have the chrome steelies with 215/70r15's on it. I still have to either shackle the back, or try to install the add a leaf.

Oh and for some reason the 31's on the front rub pretty bad on the frame at full lock. I dont know if it's the offset of the wheels or what?

Ya that back end needs lift! Looks good tho. There are spacers you can buy. I have them posted in the FAQ. Here are some. $62 Thats a good price http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wheel...1179QQtcZphoto
Maybe get some narrower tires. It should help. What kind of spacers do you have? the ones that go on top and bottom. Or the ones you twist into the springs? As for the springs spacers, are they installed correctly. For example the end of the coil on top and bottom fitted in to the grove noched in the control arm for it. If it is not properly seated in that notch it can throw it off to the side. Dubble check. even if you did put it in correctly it could have shifted!

You're in no mans land. You have a 2x4 that you want big tires on. I don't think there is much in the way of lift kits for 2x4's, they do have a lot of drop kits for 2x4's but most people who buy 2 wheel drives don't want big tires on them. The geometry is totally different between the two wheel drives and the 4x4's.

If you want a high truck try trading it in for a 4x4 and lifting it.

You have to appreciate the fact that a guy wants to put big tires on a truck. I agree no truck should ever be dropped.

Those spacers aren't a bad idea. I have those on the back of my olds already and they work nicely.

I may buy a new set of tires and just get some 30x9.50's or something?

The spacers I used are like 2inch urathane doughnuts that are put in place of the upper isolators. Makes it a REAL bitch to get the springs back in. Feared for my life about the whole time I was doing it. haha
