Default need a fast responce... question about 9.25 axle swap

I'm finally ready to tackle the swap tomorrow but I was just doing some measuring this evening and realized that the 9.25 differential carrier from the middle of the axle case to the end of the yoke is about 3 inches shorter than the 8.25. Did the couple of you who have already done the swap run into this problem and if so how did you take care of it. I was thinking it could possibly just be slid 3 inches up the leaf springs but i'm not sure. I hope the driveshaft won't have to be lengthened.

there is some play in the slip joint that will take care of it, that is why you will probably have o change the pinion angle on it. after the swap throw an angle finder in the d-shaft and see what the angle is.

What exactly are you refering to when you say the slip joint? Any chance you have a picture?

He is talking about the end of the driveshaft that slides onto to end of the transmission. This is a slip yoke. It can slip back and forth if needed. For bad96 this slip yoke was able to slip out enough to compensite for it.
