A little help needed
Out of the blue my 95' wont start (big suprise I know). It will crank all day until the battery is dead but no fire. Here is what I checked and what I know.
*it's getting spark
*it has gas in it.
*the ASD relay is good
*the splice is good
*the pickup coil is good
*I don't hear the pump come on unless I jump the relay, then i just hear it kinda buzzing, but its not loud? Still won't start when I jump the relay.
*it's giving me a code 27, which is the fuel injector I assume. I took it out and cleaned it and still nothing, BUT it's not putting out any fuel either. When I pop it out to clean it fuel just dump down into the TB? don't think that's normal? I would guess that means it getting the Fuel somehow.
*If i poor some gas down in the TB it will fire up and run for about 3 seconds then die because the Injector is putting out nada!
Could it be the fuel pump? or just the Injector? It's a 4cyl so it only has the 1 injector. I already ordered a replacement but I hate dumping $100 bucks when that might not even fix it? I put a test light up under the injector cap (the little black shell looking device that pops on it) and never got any juice? I don't know if that's normal or not?
I'm stumped! Any help is more than appreciated!

I forgot that I just replaced the fuel filter about 2 weeks ago, Yeah I'm thinking pump or injector still as well. I'm hoping its the injector. It looks to be original and it really wasnt running that great. A 14 yr old injector has to be junk. I also just ran some fuel cleaner through it about a week ago, and it helped none, so it must just be shot!

I'm still not convinced it's definately the injector, but it might not hurt to replace it. From what you said about the pump turning on it sounds like it could be bad, or the relay could be bad if you have to jump it to make the pump work. If the pump can't get fuel to the injector, then the injector would look bad. I would say if you can afford it replace the pump, relay, and injector and be done with it... cause it has to be one of those three.

I have already switched the relay with the A/c fan and Starter relays and still got the same results. I don't hear it come on when I turn the key unless I jump the 30 and 87 on the big black box (I think it's 30 and 87, its the top and bottom connections) then it just kinda buzzes/whines.
When i take the fuel line off the pump side it's getting fuel, and like I said fuel is getting to the Throttle Body somehow, just not going through the injector? When I pulled the injector out it's definitely wet.

If you don't find much info in that one do a thread search for fuel pump, cause there have been a few threads about similar issues in the past couple months.

Just tried cranking it again and it tried to fire up this time? I didn't do anything to it! I heard the fuel pump engage when I turned on the key but of course the battery was too drained to start up. When I turned it off then back on there was no fuel pump buzz again....maybe I need to do more looking for a bad wire somewhere. Grrrrrr
