I was wondering, what year and newer could the Dakota's automatic Transmission reach or go above 100MPH and how many gears are there
are the first 3 gears the same as the 3 speed tranny's gears or are they higher or lower

The auto would be a 46rh. 92-95. It can go up to 115mph or so. For the ratios off hand I don't know what they are but I know the 1st and maybe 2nd will not be the same. But it is located in the FAQ in this section.

I was also wondering, by any chance does anyone know what year and newer could the 318's automatic Transmission reach or go above 100MPH and how many gears are there, and
are the first 3 gears the same as the 3 speed tranny's gears or are they higher or lower

i cant tell you the gear ratio difference cuz i dont know. but the 318's auto tranny is the same as the 3.9Ls, 'cept more beefier. its the 46-rh or 46-re, depending on the year. it has 4 gears (3 and an overdrive). the 3.9Ls is a 42-rh or 42-re. and as for speed... i have a 2WD 3.9L magnum and i had it up to 160KM/H (100MP/H) and it was still climbing. i would assume the trucks top out at around 115 - 120 MP/H but i havent fully tested it.

Well id recomend not testing it out unless you have a tachometer because with the LA 3.9's (dont know if this applies to magnums) redline is around 5,250RPM's stock and i dont think any one wants to blow an engine
and are the magnum Trannys interchangeable with the LA engines or not because I didnt thnik they are but i dont really know

im not sure if the trannys are interchangable, im pretty sure they are, as long as the magnum has the 42/46-rh. my dak has the factory tach. when i was at 100MP/H, i was in 3rd gear (auto tranny) and it was running about 4,500 RPM. and like i said, still climbing, i still had overdrive to hit yet, but i think overdrive just holds the speed...

well id still would like to know a little more about the tranny's but
I was wondering how good are the 4.0 I6 engines, Are there any differences over the years?, and How modifiable are they, can they be modified as much as a 318, and would they and one of there tranny's fit in the Dakota, and How reliable are they, like do they last as long as the Dakota's engines

Update: Well ive looked at a Jeep forum a little while ago and ansered my question on how long they last and there were some people saying on there that they have like 375,000 miles and still dont need a rebuild, but if anyone knows anything about the 4.0 write somethin down
