Random Sh*t
My opinion would be the fast idle runs for a reason. It keeps the engine going when its cold. If you kick down the fast idle, its not doing what its supposed too. Need the higher RPM's to keep the cold engine running good. My old 81 dodge ramcharger 318 was like that.
Another random qustion, heres the background,
Lately its been hangin around the low 20s-0 F. well after the truck sitting the night or a good 6-8 hours I have started it, starts up fine but when i go to kick the choke down (tap the pedal) (and slightly rev it to do so) some thing for some reason is screatching, or squeeling when it hits like 2200RPMs, after running a decent amount of seconds it doesnt do it anymore,
What im wondering is what the hell is squeeling?

This is just a random thread about some general problems and what can be done, so any ways, my 87 Dakota has a small problem with the electrical system where while its idling at lower speeds in gear or out you can really see the lights flickering (Like the Head lights, the lights in the dash, on the radio and the one in the roof) and i was wondering what it could be, like if it was the altinater or something else
it right next to the coil. that should fix your problem.
Thats what I did on my 87 and it fixed it. good luck
you probably got a 75 amp nicondenso on it. you can get a 95 amp chrysler (87-91) for next to nothing. at idle your power problems are solved.
get one at a junk yard. the rebuild kit is $20 bucks and takes 10 minutes to install.

Well, my dad pointed out something to me, he noticed in the snow under where my truck normally sits appears to be 5 visible drops of transmission fluid, well i know this has come up before on some of the threads but Where is the most common places they leak tranny fluid?
