Well ive had a few ideas but I dont know how much more power it will give, for one a K&N Filter, I was also wondering about increasing airflow by making another pipe connected to the outer housing of the filter container like on the left side and have 2 pipes on both sides (so it will increase airflow to the engine and still keep water from getting in) but i also want to here others ideas, and i know that theres more you can do to get more power than just modify the air supply system

and heres a picture of the engine compartment if anyone wants to check out the engine

theres only a couple things off the hop that i can think of without tearing apart the engine, 1st being spark plugs, premium wires, premium cap and rotor, and a summit racing ignition coil, 2nd being new air filter, if you dont use your a/c, buy a belt that doesnt run the compressor, use high test gas instead of regular, and thats about all i can think of right now, but ill let you know if i think of some more small things you can change

What specific kind of spark plugs you think would be the best?,and I do plan to use the A/C but im not sure if it works, it cycles on and off but it needs to be recahrged, and what about changing the exaust system, i was thinking of taking the mufflers off if a 3.9 V6 sounds good and then have the pipes go strait from the engine and having it coming out about a foot in front of the rear tires though thats if it will increase any power and/or tourque but i still want to hear what others think could be done

dont take the muffler off because the engine needs that back power. if anything get a performance muffler and bigger piping. as for the spark plugs, everyone says use the autolite 3923s.

All the small things like tune up parts and air filter and exhaust will only give 30HP Tops! Engine work is the way to get more than that.

Huh i didnt know these engines needed back pressure from a muffler, I personaly thought the older ones didnt need it and with how many engines there are that seem to run good in derbys with only like a foot and a half of pipe strait up through the hood i didnt think it would affect this too much.......

Carbed and TBI do need back pressure to be efficient! It can run with none. Modern MPI needs some but not much to be efficient.
