The ABS sensor is located on the rear diff.
The speed sensor with the cable is for the computer to know what speed the truck is going and when needed to kick on the OD or the TCC. Also for the computer to know what speed the truck is going for the cruze control system, so it can keep the speed. The speedo is the only thing the cable is for.

Go with what Crazy said and look into replacing the part you took a picture of, cause he is a lot more familiar with the '93s than me :P

but what i find really weird is the fact that the summit site said that the malfunction of the vehicle speed sensor could cause my torque converter clutch to go outta wack and throw off a few other things. right at the moment, my ABS light isnt on, nor is it working when its supposed to be or not working when it shouldnt be (ie kicking in when the wheels arent even locked up). i wanna fix this so bad just to see if it does in turn solve my dreaded torque converter clutch solenoid problem. if that doesnt fix it, i guess ill have to fix the actual solenoid, but im trying to avoid ripping stuff off when i dont have to quite yet, ya know? if anybody could shed some light on the vehicle speed sensor thing. any help is great help and is greatly appreciated

so what your saying is, the part in the pic is what i have to replace?

right on! that makes me really happy! imma pull the one off the '91 before i sell it and hopefully that will fix the majority of my problems!

Wow, after our hour long discussion of the problem, it took Crazy 4 sentances to come up with the solution! I was running on the assumption that since your truck has the cable that it wouldn't have an electric sensor. I didn't even think about cruise control and the TC lock up. It's amazing how different two trucks of the same generation can be (cause my experience starts and end with the my '95 model)

But anyway, I'm going to bed cause its 2:47 am here and I can't think anymore.

its nice to have it, but also a pain, cuz it takes up too much space. thats the main reason im selling it, plus the old lady is bitching.......

yeah, its pretty intense, how many times did dodge change the 1st gen? '87-'92 are LA blocks, then they came out with the magnum in '93 and now this difference with the tranny, and then in '96 when they made the computer OBDII compliant... what else are we gunna find out they changed and when? :P

93 rear abs standard. 94-up the v8 has manual tranny. tons. check out this site

Post a pic of that 91. Maybe I will come take a look. I think they started using that sensor in 92 on the Dakota .But we also had magnums in 91 in the rams. One of the barrel intakes that I ported for my truck came off a 91 ram from Buck's.
