Default just bought a 94 markIII

just wanted to welcome myself. i recently picked up a 94 markIII with 89k miles. dont have any pictures yet, i've been busy cleaning up the hack job of speaker wires that were run through the truck.

i have 1 problem and i couldn't find an answer on here- when i turn the heat/ac on no air blows out. i'm assuming it's the blower motor. i checked all my 30amp fuses and they were all good. can anyone please lead me in the direction of some info?

Welcome to DF! As for your question, check the resistor pack on the passenger side of the firewall, very common problem, they are like $20-$25 at autozone I think

you're referring to the thing that plugs into prongs on the firewall?

my uncle and i are going to replacing my intake gasket since it's leaking- which i know was a very common problem up until 2002.

and now today that it stopped raining i'm going to be installing front door speakers, and finish hunting down the proper wire set up so my indash dvd doesn't reset every time i shut the truck off. one of the previous owners was cheap and didn't buy the adapter harness, and just cut the stock harness. but i found the color code chart online and hopefully i can solve this today. will be posting pictures soon!

yesterday i got the alarm system removed because i didn't have a remote and it had a mind of its own and randomly killed the ignition leaving me unable to start the truck. and also got the windows tinted. i'll be taking some pictures today.

after reading about what the parts true function (which i thought i knew but clearly didnt...) i have a good feeling that if i replace that, it will solve alot of power loss, oil burning, and odd idle when in park or neutral issues. we shall give it a shot on payday, along with oil change, trans fluid and filter change, rad flush and a tune up.

Yeah, you definately should, I was going to suggest it to you but never got around to it. I'm going to get one when I get to that point in building the 408, but for now my truck needs one but I'm not going to bother.

I was looking at the manifold I have in the garage that came with the 360 (cause I'm going to modify the runners and use it since it does not have the EGR), and I couldn't help but wonder what the heck is the point of that plate, why did they not just build in that plate in the casting?

hmmm... cheaper production? I think also the ability to access the inside of the manifold might be some added benefit to somebody somewhere... I mean i've seen the kegger mod before, and you mentioned modding the runners.

btw... what are the differences in EGR and non EGR engines... aside from the actual EGR components... is it a different intake manifold? is the ecu different from a regular egr? if i ever did the swap, I think i'd go looking for non-egr just to rid myself of the hassle. I know its emissions, and can also help with engine efficiency, but it just seems to be extra crap to break for what it's worth.

The difference is simply that there is no EGR valve in the manifold. It will trip the code on my computer (but its tripped right now anyway so oh well). Also, the headers I ordered are for a non-egr year of the dakota, so I'm getting rid of the system completely.

Yeah I guess your right, the kegger mod would be impossible without that big hole there.
